Saved to Pray
January 21 - Saved to Pray
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” - Hebrews 4:16
The minute you put your faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, you entered into the family of God. Being a part of God’s family has amazing privileges of access and availability. God is always willing and waiting to spend time with you. In fact, it’s the reason God saved you. So you could be with him.
“As a chosen one of God, I was saved to pray; and whenever I come into God’s presence to behold Him, worship Him, or make request of Him, I am arriving at the pinnacle of God’s saving purposes for me.” - Milton Vincent / A Gospel Primer
How amazing is the love of God, that he would pursue us and draw us to himself so that we could simply be with him. Having a relationship with God isn’t about doing things for him, but simply being with him. Throughout his ministry, Jesus invited people to rest with him, to abide with him, and to simply follow him. Because of his work for us, we get to do that with God.
